How to do the Mirage
The mirage is a legover variant where the stepping leg goes over the bag from the outside toward the inside — the opposite direction of a standard legover. The second contact is then made with the outside of the foot, making it feel like a mirror image of the legover.
Tutorial by PassBack
STEP BY STEP
- Kick the bag upward with your dominant foot to waist height.
- Instead of your non-dominant leg stepping over from inside to outside, swing it over from outside to inside.
- The step arc passes over the top of the bag in the reverse direction.
- As the non-dominant leg clears the bag, your dominant foot makes the second contact on the outside shelf.
- Reset and continue play.
TIPS
- The outside-to-inside step direction is the entire difference from a legover — feel that distinction in your hips.
- The outside-foot second contact must be deliberate; practice outside kicks solo before combining.
- Kick the bag slightly toward your non-dominant side to set up the reverse step angle.
