How to do the Toe Stall

A stall catches and holds the bag on your body briefly, demonstrating complete control before launching into the next move. The toe stall — landing the bag on top of your foot — is the first stall every freestyler learns and the gateway to the entire Stalls & Delays category.

STEP BY STEP

  1. Kick or toss the bag gently to about one foot above your dominant foot.
  2. Point your toe downward and extend your foot so the laces face upward.
  3. Let the bag drop onto the lace area on top of your shoe.
  4. As the bag lands, drop your foot downward slightly to absorb the impact — like catching an egg.
  5. Balance the bag on your foot for a beat, then flick upward to resume play.
