How to do the Inside Stall
The inside stall catches the bag on the inside-of-foot shelf — the same surface used for the inside kick — and holds it there. Because it uses the flattest, most natural surface on the foot, it is one of the most stable stalls once the cushioning motion is learned.
Tutorial by PassBack
STEP BY STEP
- Kick the bag upward with a light inside kick so it rises about two feet.
- Rotate your hip outward and lift your knee, angling the inside of your foot upward to form a shelf.
- Let the bag drop onto the flat inside-foot surface just below the ankle bone.
- As contact is made, relax your leg and let it sink slightly to cushion the landing.
- Hold the stall steady, then kick upward off the inside shelf to continue.
TIPS
- Angle your foot slightly inward so the shelf is as flat and wide as possible.
- The cushion must happen at impact — tensing up causes the bag to bounce away.
- Start by catching the bag from a self-toss before trying to chain it from a kick.
