How to do the Inside Kick
The inside-of-foot kick is the first and most important strike in footbag. Every trick in the sport traces its lineage back to this single motion — learning it well means every other trick becomes reachable.
Tutorial by PassBack
STEP BY STEP
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent and weight centered.
- Toss the bag gently upward in front of your dominant foot, about one foot high.
- Rotate your hip outward and lift your knee to waist height.
- Strike the bag with the inside of your foot — the flat shelf just below the ankle bone.
- Let the bag rise to about chest height, then catch it to evaluate your contact.
- Repeat without catching: keep the bag in the air using only inside kicks.
TIPS
- Keep your arms out wide for balance — think tightrope walker, not soldier.
- Strike through the center of the bag, not the top or side, to send it straight up.
- Watch the bag the entire time, not your foot.
