How to do the Clipper
The clipper crosses your dominant foot in front of your body to stall or control the bag on your non-dominant side. It is a crucial linking move for combos and one of the most-used body positions in freestyle footbag.
Tutorial by PassBack
STEP BY STEP
- Let the bag drift slightly to your non-dominant side.
- Cross your dominant foot in front of your body, swinging it toward the bag.
- Meet the bag with the inside of your dominant foot in a controlled stall or light strike.
- To stall: absorb the contact and hold the bag on your inside shelf.
- To kick through: follow through so the bag pops upward and returns to center.
- Reset your stance and continue the sequence.
TIPS
- Rotate your hips as you cross — power and reach come from hip rotation, not just leg swing.
- Keep the cross low and controlled; wild swings destroy balance.
- Drill the footwork without the bag: cross in front → reset → cross. Make it automatic.
